Killington, Vermont

When someone is lost or hurt in the mountains, volunteers answer.

The KSAR Foundation funds the gear and training that keep the all-volunteer Killington Search & Rescue team ready for the next call.

Why we exist

Rescue gear and training are expensive

Killington Search & Rescue is an all-volunteer team that operates under the Killington Police Department. The town funds the basics, but the gear and advanced training a backcountry rescue team needs cost more than a municipal budget can cover.

That’s where the community comes in. The foundation lets neighbors, businesses, and visitors fund what the town can’t, so the team is ready when the call comes.
